Hello and thank you for visiting the website of the award-winning Wayland Partnership Development Trust.
Established in 1999, our vision is to create a knowledge-based economy for the Wayland area (Watton and 13 surrounding parishes in the heart of Norfolk) focused on the heritage, culture and the natural and built environment through the promotion of the economic, social, cultural and environmental well-being of all who live, work and visit here.
What does that mean in practice? Well, a truly community led organisation, we work in partnership with a wide variety of local community organisations, education establishments, statutory agencies and businesses to make things better for people.
We are delighted (and very excited!) to announce that we have received £17,000 of funding from players of the People’s Postcode Lottery, through the Postcode Local Trust, to transform our big, empty concrete yard at Wayland House into a Memory Garden: a beautiful, secure sensory garden for people with dementia and their carers. On November 1st, we opened Norfolk’s first ever community fridge! Based at Wayland House, the fridge is stocked with unused food from local businesses and available to anyone in the local community for free! Donations include food from Watton Bakery and Tesco.
