Here at The Partnership, we aim to create a knowledge-based economy for the Wayland area focused on the heritage, culture, and the natural and built environment of the market town of Watton and the surrounding village communities, to the benefit of all who live, work and visit here.

Here at The Partnership, we aim to create a knowledge-based economy for the Wayland area focused on the heritage, culture, and the natural and built environment of the market town of Watton and the surrounding village communities, to the benefit of all who live, work and visit here.
We are a registered charity and a company limited by guarantee. We were founded in 1999 after a six month community consultation process. We were one of the first grassroots community partnerships to be formed and others followed using our model. We were the first registered charity to have regeneration recognized by the Charity Commission as a charitable aim.
The Partnership is made up of Watton and the thirteen surrounding parishes of Ashill, Breckles, Caston, Carbrooke, Griston, Great Hockham,Great Cressngham, Little Cressingham, Merton, Ovington, Stow Bedon, Scoulton, and Thompson plus community organisations such as Chamber of Commerce, schools, U3A, Men’s Shed, Memory Café. The Partners, who meet every two months, provide much of the driving force behind the charitable activities. They undertake to liaise between the Partnership and their parish or organisation.
There is a board of trustees who are the enablers of the Partner decisions, are responsible for the day to day management of the charity, and who report back to the Partners.
