As owners of the Wayland House site at the western end of Watton High Street, the Partnership (supported by our local councils, Breckland and Norfolk Councils) are going to re-develop the current site to provide a new state-of-the-art facility to provide new office and activity space for the Partnership, serviced business office accommodation, a 100-seat gaming arena and cinema, gaming area, podcast studio, new art gallery and live performance area, cafe and children soft play space.
Our special Wayland DCMC event
31st October 2025
On Friday 31 October, at the beautiful Dragon Hall in Norwich, we were able through use of VR to experience an e-Sports arena and podcast studios, as well as have a virtual tour of the DCMC led by the project’s architect.
We heard from a few special guests including an International AI Superstar; Robin Milton, founder of Fairer Games and one of the gaming industry’s most influential voices, shared her views on the untapped potential of the digital and creative sector in Norfolk, and the benefits for all with the Wayland DCMC; additional insights and views from Neil Darwin (Deyton Bell) and Cllr Fabian Eagle – it was a great event and a fantastic turnout, thank you for attending!
We have the space. We have the plan. We have a core team of people ready to bring this groundbreaking initiative to fruition.
The business focus on digital and creative media will provide a hub for local gaming companies and digital artists, with game development lab facilities for programmers, producers, gamers, meeting rooms and serviced offices. While the community will be served with expanded Partnership capacity including programmes to extend computer literacy, and leisure activities to meet everyone’s needs whether film, music, art as well as gaming, in a safe secure environment.
The Partnership will continue within the Wayland House community building, but with this projected DCMC we will have greater opportunities for technology as well as continuing with what we offer now (community arts and crafts, heritage and much more).
