Over 60 people joined the staff and trustees of the Wayland Partnership Development Trust at Broom Hall Country Hotel on Friday. The party was a celebration of 15 years of partnership work to improve the economic, social, environmental and cultural wellbeing of all those who live and work in Wayland. This event was a perfect opportunity to reflect on past achievements, to say thank you to all those who have helped out over the years and to begin to plan for future projects and activities. The other aim for the evening was to raise funds as match-funding for grant applications that will support the projects that the Partnership bids for. The event was kindly sponsored by Spire Solicitors and through the generosity of local businesses and individuals donating products and services to our Charity Auction, the Partnership raised the fantastic sum of £1500.
Chair of Trustees, Jan Godfrey said “We are absolutely delighted with the support we have received, which has exceeded our expectations.” Suzanne Rhind, Business & Community Development Manager added “Securing this local funding is really important as it shows funders that we have community support and it will allow us to access much larger sums of money for our projects”. The Partnership will now be consulting with Partners and the wider community to put in place a 5 year Action Plan.
